About Our Classroom
Here you will find my classroom management strategies, an explanation of some of the Kagan strategies used in my room, and the VBRD Program at St. James.
Classroom Management
I hold my students to high expectations in their work and their behavior in the classroom. This allows students to do their best work and to be on their best behavior in the classroom. I use a Clip-Chart to facilitate awareness of an appropriate learning environment in our classroom.

Kagan Strategies
The Kagan Strategies are used to promote cooperative learning in the classroom. These strategies provide student engagement, social interaction, a fun interactive learning environment, and a decrease in behavior issues in the classroom. I use these strategies in all subject areas in my classroom to promote engagement in the lessons.
VBRD
VBRD, Virtue-Based Restorative Discipline, is a program at St. James that recognizes students for doing virtuous acts. A virtue is a holy habit that makes us like God and leads us to Heaven. Staff members are looking for students who are displaying the virtues of compassion, forgiveness, docility, and gentleness throughout the day. Those students who are noticed displaying these virtues will be recognized at an assembly every few weeks.
